Samsung is just days away from unveiling its next-generation foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, but fresh leaks have already pulled back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. According to reliable sources, both devices are set to receive substantial design upgrades—with the Fold7 aiming to be the thinnest book-style foldable phone on the market.
Galaxy Z Fold7: Samsung’s Slimmest Fold Yet
A recent leak from Weibo tipster Setsuna Digital reveals that the Galaxy Z Fold7 could be Samsung’s sleekest foldable to date, measuring just 8.9mm thick when folded and an ultra-slim 4.2mm when unfolded. That puts it on par with the Oppo Find N5, currently the slimmest Android foldable on record. Samsung appears to be going head-to-head with Honor’s Magic V5, but early specs suggest the Fold7 holds the edge in thinness.
In terms of weight, the Fold7 drops from 239g (Fold6) to just 215g, thanks to an updated Armor Aluminum frame and a new glass-ceramic back, promising a more refined in-hand feel.

The display experience is also getting an upgrade. The Fold7 will feature a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch internal foldable AMOLED panel, both offering 120Hz refresh rates for smooth navigation and media consumption.
Flagship Performance and Pro-Grade Camera
Under the hood, the Z Fold7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, offering optimized performance tailored for Samsung devices. This sets it apart from the Flip7 and Flip7 FE models, which are tipped to feature Exynos chips.
The Fold7 also impresses with a powerful quad-camera setup:
- 200MP main sensor
- 12MP ultrawide
- 10MP 3x telephoto
- 10MP selfie camera with a 100° field of view
The phone is expected to ship with Android 16 and One UI 8.0, with a commitment to seven years of software support—a huge win for longevity-conscious users.
Galaxy Z Flip7: Slimmer Body, Bigger Features
Not to be outdone, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is also slimming down. The device reportedly measures 13.7mm when folded and just 6.5mm when unfolded, slimmer than the Flip6’s 14.9mm profile. Yet, Samsung has managed to fit in a larger 4,300mAh battery and an expanded 4.1-inch cover screen.
The Flip7’s 6.9-inch main display offers a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, ultra-slim 1.25mm bezels, and brightness levels up to 2,600 nits, ensuring vivid visuals even in direct sunlight.
Pre-Orders & Launch Deals
Samsung has already opened pre-orders on its website, with early reservation perks including:
- Up to $1,150 in savings
- A $50 Samsung Store credit
These deals make the new foldables even more enticing for early adopters looking to upgrade.
With the Galaxy Z Fold7 pushing the limits of foldable design and performance, and the Z Flip7 getting a sleeker build and bigger battery, Samsung is doubling down on innovation in the foldable space. If these leaks prove accurate, July 9’s Unpacked event could mark a new milestone in ultra-premium smartphones.
