Honor is preparing to introduce its next flagship series, the Magic 8 lineup, and we now have a clearer picture of what to expect. Newly released live images from the brand showcase the front of the phone, following earlier leaks that highlighted the back design.

At first sight, the Magic 8 closely resembles its predecessor, the Magic 7. The standout change is its flat display with noticeably rounded edges, which Honor refers to as an R-angle flat screen.

This sits alongside a redesigned right-angled mid-frame that gives the device a slimmer, more refined look. Around the back, the handset keeps its circular camera housing with four cutouts. These will likely accommodate three lenses and a depth sensor, though Honor has yet to reveal full details. Reports suggest that the Magic 8 Pro will carry a new 200-megapixel telephoto sensor.

On the front, the standard Magic 8 is equipped with a single punch-hole selfie camera, while the Pro version is expected to include a pill-shaped cutout, enabling advanced 3D face recognition.

A new addition to the design is a button located just below the power key. Honor has clarified that this isn’t a shutter button but a dedicated AI key. While its complete functions are still under wraps, it is expected to link with the company’s expanding suite of AI-powered features such as Magic Color, AI retouching, and instant photo expansion.

Under the hood, the Magic 8 series will be among the first devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which was announced this week. The chipset brings faster speeds, improved power efficiency, and stronger AI performance, aligning well with Honor’s AI-first approach.

The Magic 8 series is scheduled to launch in China on October 15, alongside the MagicPad 3 Pro. A global release is likely to follow in 2025.
