Lumio has officially entered India’s budding home projector market with the debut of two new smart projectors Arc 5 and Arc 7. The company aims to fill a significant void in the market, which is currently dominated by either entry-level options under Rs. 12,000 ($140) or premium models above Rs. 50,000 ($584).
Specifications of Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7
The Arc projector lineup is designed to cater to the midrange segment, priced between Rs. 20,000 ($234) and Rs. 50,000 ($584), an area that remains largely untapped in India. Lumio has engineered these projectors to address typical user pain points, such as limited app support, underwhelming audio, complicated installations, and lack of dependable after-sales service.
Both projectors operate on Google TV and come with Netflix certification, granting access to over 10,000 apps and a massive library of 400,000+ movies and shows. To bolster customer trust, Lumio has rolled out a network of over 200 service centers across India and offers a 1-year warranty with every unit.
The Arc 5 is a lightweight, portable projector ideal for bedrooms, hostels, or on-the-go use. It delivers 200 ANSI lumens of brightness, Full HD 1080p resolution with HDR10, and projects screens up to 100 inches in size. Weighing only 1.33 kg, it’s equipped with 5W Dolby Audio speakers and dual passive radiators for enhanced bass performance.
The Arc 7, built for larger living areas, steps up with 400 ANSI lumens brightness and a 2x8W stereo speaker setup featuring Dolby Audio and a larger bass radiator. Like the Arc 5, it supports a 100-inch screen size and employs the same sealed ArcLight Engine to minimize dust accumulation and maintain image quality over time.
Both models include smart features such as auto-keystone correction, obstacle detection, and instant autofocus via a built-in Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. Lumio has branded this setup as STR8 (Smooth Trapezoidal Recalibration), aimed at making projector setup quick and user-friendly. Internally, they are powered by the MediaTek 9630 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
Also introduced is Lumio’s new Minion Noir remote, which includes one-click access to Google Assistant, Netflix, YouTube, and TLDR, Lumio’s own dashboard offering live sports alerts and curated music streams.
Price and Availability
The Arc 7 will be up for grabs on Amazon.in starting July 12 at a price of Rs. 34,999 ($409). Early adopters can grab it at a discounted launch offer of Rs. 29999 [$350] during the Amazon Prime Day sale from July 12 to July 14. The Arc 5 is scheduled to go on sale during the last week of July at Rs. 19,999 ($234).
