It looks like OnePlus is preparing for a new endeavor, this time with gamers as its primary emphasis. A recent leak claims that the business is creating a new line of smartphones intended only for mobile gaming. Gaming triggers, flagship chips, and other elements designed to provide an immersive experience will be included.

Tipster @heyitsyogesh on X is the source of the information. Although there are currently little specifics available, the series is anticipated to include top-tier hardware, most likely the newest and greatest models from Qualcomm or MediaTek. Larger batteries are reportedly included, which is reasonable given that China is projected to produce a gaming-focused smartphone portfolio in 2025 and beyond.

The built-in shoulder triggers, like those found on the Infinix GT 30 Pro and Nubia RedMagic series, will set this new gaming-focused series apart from the current performance-focused OnePlus devices, even though the current Ace series is already excellent at handling big titles—the Ace 3V topped AnTuTu’s October rankings last year.

Though precise specifications are yet unknown, there is also conjecture regarding high-refresh-rate AMOLED screens and customized cooling systems.

The source claims that the next series, which is currently in the research and production stage, would only debut in China at first. This plan is consistent with OnePlus’s previous practice of testing prototype devices domestically, like to its Ace series, before contemplating a worldwide launch.

Although the phones’ prices and model names have not yet been released, they are expected to be priced more than the Nord series and compete with flagships that are focused on gaming, such as the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro and RedMagic 10 Pro. Additionally, OnePlus is developing OxygenOS 16, which is anticipated to release next year and may include software updates as well as a new design language specifically suited for gaming.

Although it’s doubtful whether this portfolio of gaming devices will ever leave China, OnePlus has demonstrated in the past that high demand can impact international plans.
