Infinix will be introducing her first 5G smartphone in Nigeria tomorrow. The phone is said to go by the name Zero 5G, and it is expected to offer the fastest network speed on any Infinix smartphone till date. Being just few hours away from launch, we decided to put together all that we know so far.
Infinix Zero 5G CPU, GPU and 5G network
Starting from the CPU, the Zero 5G is going to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 CPU, the same processor on the recent Tecno POVA 5G. So, the Zero 5G is going to have 8-core CPUs, maxed at 2×2.4GHz, along with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, with an expected Antutu score of up to 475K.
This is obviously where the 5G capability on the device comes from. The company has even confirmed via a recent tweet, that the Zero 5G will have up to 13 5G network bands, to enable compatibility on multiple 5G network providers.
Display and Camera specs on the Zero 5G
The Zero 5G is expected in a 6.7-inches screen with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolutions. The phone will have a centralized dot notch, and Infinix might use IPS LCD screen, instead of AMOLED, with the aim of keeping cost as low as possible.
As for the camera department, three lenses are expected on the rear, of which the primary snapper is going to be a 48-megapixels. The phone will also get four LEDs to aid more appealing shots in lowlight conditions, while the selfie cam is going to be a 16-megapixel lens.
Infinix Zero 5G expected battery capacity and OS
Some sources claimed the Zero 5G will have between 4500mAh to 4700mAh battery. But based on a certification document we’ve previously seen, we think a 5000mAh battery will be used instead, and it should offer up to 33W fast charger via USB-C interface.
The company had also tipped that the device will offer Zero lag User Interface. The fastest and smoothest Infinix UI so far, is the latest XOS v10. This OS is based on Google Android 11, and should boot on the Zero 5G out of the box.
Zero 5G expected price and availability
After the announcement in Nigeria tomorrow, the Zero 5G is expected to begin selling immediately, as some stores has already confirmed availability. The device will journey on to India on Val day, and should be price under Rs. 20,000, while the recommended retail price in Nigeria may be N169,500.
This is what we’ve gathered so far on the upcoming Zero 5G from Infinix. We’d find out more after the official announcement taking place tomorrow, the 8th of February. Stay tuned!
