Samsung Exynos 2400 to Surpass Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Apple A17 Pro in Graphics Performance

Samsung has announced that its upcoming Exynos 2400 chipset will surpass all competitors from North America in terms of graphics performance. This is a bold claim, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Apple A17 Pro are expected to be the two most powerful mobile chipsets released in 2024.

The Exynos 2400 is rumored to feature an AMD GPU, which would be a significant departure from Samsung’s previous Exynos chips, which have used ARM GPU cores. AMD GPUs are known for their strong gaming performance, so it is possible that the Exynos 2400 could indeed be a graphics powerhouse.

However, it is important to note that Samsung has a history of overhyping its Exynos chipsets. In the past, Samsung has claimed that its Exynos chips would outperform Qualcomm Snapdragon chips, but this has not always turned out to be the case. For example, the Exynos 2200 chipset, which is used in the Galaxy S22 series, has been criticized for its poor thermal performance and battery life.

It remains to be seen whether the Exynos 2400 will live up to Samsung’s claims. The chipset is expected to be released in early 2024, and it will likely be used in the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung’s Hesitation to Use the Exynos 2400 in the Top-End Galaxy S24 Ultra

Despite its claims about the Exynos 2400’s graphics performance, Samsung is reportedly hesitant to use the chipset in the top-end Galaxy S24 Ultra. This is likely due to the fact that Samsung has had problems with its Exynos chips in the past.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be Samsung’s most expensive and powerful smartphone of 2024. Samsung is likely hesitant to use the Exynos 2400 in the Ultra for fear of repeating the problems that it has had with its Exynos chips in the past.

It is possible that Samsung will release two versions of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, one with the Exynos 2400 and one with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This would allow Samsung to test the Exynos 2400 in a high-end smartphone without putting its flagship device at risk.
