As promised, Tecno Mobile have just announced the latest Spark 5 mobile phone in Nigeria. The device was previously launched in Ghana, and came as the successors to the older Tecno Spark 4 which were both launched back in 2019.
Mimicking the name, the vanilla Spark 5 comes with five camera sensors in all and has a built-in 5000mAh battery. Of the five sensors, four of them is kept at the back of the phone, while one seats upfront. Now of the four at the back, the main snapper is a 13-megapixel lens pegged with 2-megapixel wide, 2-megapixel macro and a fourth QVGA low light sensor.

The fifth sensor, an 8 MP lens, is hidden inside the display upfront. Now talking about display, the Tecno Spark 5 has a 6.6-inch HD+ screen with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. The phone draws strength from a quad-core Mediatek Helio A22 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz along with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
There is also the Spark 5 Air, which is the upgraded version of the Spark 4 Air of last year. This comes with a larger 7-inch display with 720 x 1640 pixels resolution. On the camera department, the Spark 5 Air has dual 13 MP + 2 MP camera lenses at the back, and a single 8-megapixel shooter upfront. This also has the Helio A22 CPU, PowerVr GE8320 GPU, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
Every other specs remains same. Both phones has a 5000mAh battery that charges via USB Type-C. You also get dual SIM slot and the latest Google Android 10 with HiOS v6.1 out of the box. The cost of the Spark 5-series in Nigeria was not revealed as at writing, but considering the pricing in Ghana, it should not exceed 50k mark in Nigeria.
Update: As for the pricing, the Tecno Spark 5 is priced at N49,000, while the Spark 5 Air is Priced at N47,000 in Nigeria. Both phones should be available via online and offline stores starting from next week.
