Ubiquiti has revealed the Dream Router 5G Max (UDR-5G-Max), a versatile 5G customer premises equipment that provides cellular, wired, and wireless network capabilities. The unit carries a $499 price tag and is scheduled to arrive in stores during February 2026.
The Dream Router 5G Max functions as a desktop cloud gateway incorporating built-in 5G capability, three-band Wi-Fi 7 technology, and UniFi OS compatibility. The unit sports a cylindrical form factor with dimensions of 110 × 110 × 250 mm and provides one NanoSIM socket plus a combination NanoSIM/eSIM dual slot. When operating on 5G NSA infrastructure, the unit achieves download speeds reaching 3.4Gbps and upload rates up to 560Mbps. Using standalone 5G SA infrastructure, it attains 1.8Gbps for downloads and 650Mbps for uploads.

The device includes one 10GbE SFP+ connection and four 2.5GbE RJ45 connections, with one offering PoE capability. The wireless system carries a BE10700 rating, offering throughput of 688Mbps, 4.3Gbps, and 5.7Gbps across its three frequency ranges. The effective range covers roughly 160 square meters. Ubiquiti provides a 64GB microSD card for video retention and app functionality, capable of handling up to five HD streams, two 2K streams, and one 4K stream via UniFi Protect.

Ubiquiti has designated this model as the premier offering in its recently broadened UniFi 5G Max series. The company simultaneously unveiled two companion models. The UniFi 5G Max indoor modem operates via PoE power and retails for $399. It accommodates dual SIM and eSIM technology with throughput reaching 3.4Gbps. Ubiquiti confirms support for AT&T and T-Mobile networks, with Verizon approval anticipated by late December.
The exterior variant, UniFi 5G Max Outdoor, targets demanding environmental conditions. It carries an IPX6 protection standard as standard and achieves IP67 status when fitted with an optional cable gland door accessory. It delivers identical 5G capabilities as the interior model and will launch in January 2026 at $459.
