Gionee has announced that it will introduce M7, the company’s new smartphone in the ‘M series’ in China soon. It said that the phone will have full screen display with ultra narrow bezels, similar to its teaser. This annoucement however, is no way a surprise to us as the current Gionee M6 and the M6 Plus are already ‘aging’, considering the current competitions in the phone industry, especially from China.
While Gionee was completely silent about the specifications and design of the new M-series, a recent GFXBench listing has given us loop to peep into the possible specifications of the M7, which includes:
- 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+
- A screen with 18:9 aspect ratio,
- Latest MediaTek Helio P30 SoC,
- 6GB RAM, 64GB storage,
- Android 7.1.1 (Nougat),
- 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The M6 and M6 Plus smartphones that were unveiled last year had huge batteries, so the M7 series are also expected to pack huge batteries. The phones are expected to feature fingerprint sensor on the back.
Gionee is partnering with Ofo, a bike-sharing startup company. We should know more details, including the announcement date of M7 in the coming weeks.
