Xiaomi has been granted patents that will allow the company to launch new smartphone designs with large rear cameras. This patent means that Xiaomi is aiming at releasing new smartphones that are aimed solely at excellent photography.
This report is according to LetsGoDigital in which they said that, Xiaomi filed for the patent in March 2021. The patent was filed with the World Intellectual Property Office for their unique phone design. It was earlier in the month of June that the design patent got approved and three unique smartphone designs were published. The phone designs all had huge camera sensors at their rears. The designs came with the caption written, “mobile phone, back cover for mobile phone”.
From the designs, one can deduce that the company seems to have grabbed a little inspiration from the design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. Some of the sketched designs are also similar in a way to the Mi 11 series smartphones also from Xiaomi. The common characteristic of all the three phone sketches is large rear cameras.
Whether Xiaomi is working on these phones already or is just covering the bases, we do not yet know. We will have to wait for more news concerning these phone designs and the smartphones that will carry the designs.
