The Xiaomi Redmi 8 unboxing video was leaked yesterday and finally the device has been launched in India today. Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi 8A last month and this Redmi 8 will be the upgraded version of the Redmi 8A.

The 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage models of the smartphone are respectively priced at Rs. 7,999 (~$112) and Rs. 8,999 (~$126).

Going to the specs, on the front, it has a 6.22-inch display, it’s an HD+ display which means it has a resolution of 720 by 1520 pixels, the device has a PPI of 270 and 19:9 aspect ratio. It’s an IPS LCD panel screen with 81.8% screen to body ratio, the display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 439 Chip which has an Octa core processor clocked at 1.9GHz, it runs on Android 9 pie with MIUI 10 out of the box and Adreno 505 for graphics or gaming. The processor is also paired with a 3gb/4gb RAM and 32gb/64gb internal storage.

In terms of camera, this device spot a dual rear cameras which are 12mp main camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a led flash and 2mp depth sensor, on the front, it has an 8mp selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, both the front and back camera records video in 1080p at 30fps.

What is keeping the light on is a 5,000mAh Li-Po battery which supports fast charging up to 18W.
