The Redmi 8A has been launched in India, it is the successor to the Redmi 7A and brings a lots of awesome features such as the waterdrop notch, it is the first device in the Redmi A series to spot a waterdrop notch display, it comes with P2i splash-resistant coating which a lot of people would love.

The device is priced at $88 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage while the 3GB + 32GB variant is priced at $98, the device will be available for purchase starting from September 29th on Mi.com and Flipkart; the company says it will become available via offline stores “soon.

The device is made from plastic which is normal for an entry level device nowadays, it spot that nice colors and it’s light weight, it comes in three colors which are Sunset Red, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black.

On the front, it has a 6.22-inch waterdrop notch display, it’s an HD+ display which means it has a resolution of 720 by 1520 pixels, the device has a PPI of 271 and 19:9 aspect ratio. It’s an IPS LCD panel screen with 81.3% screen to body ratio, the display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 439 Chip which has an Octa core processor clocked at 1.95GHz, it runs on Android 9 pie with MIUI 10 out of the box and Adreno 505 for graphics or gaming. The processor is also paired with a 2gb/3gb RAM and 32gb internal storage.

In terms of camera, this device spot a single rear camera which is the 12mp camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a led flash, on the front, it has 8mp selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, both the front and back camera records video in 1080p at 30fps.

What is keeping the light on is a 5000mAh Li-Po battery which supports fast charging upto 18W.
