Xiaomi has officially rolled out the 17 series in China, but the smartphones aren’t the only highlight. Alongside the new devices, the company has introduced a quirky accessory a retro handheld gaming case made specifically for the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The brand has also shared pricing and details for this add-on, which is quickly generating buzz.
Xiaomi 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max retro gaming case features and price
The new case transforms the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max into handheld gaming consoles with a nostalgic design. Priced at 299 Yuan (around 40 US dollars), it features a dark, skin-friendly finish and a classic button arrangement reminiscent of old-school consoles.
It comes preloaded with officially licensed games like Angry Birds 2, Sky Destroyer, Furball Runner, and Snake. Because the games are built into the case, they run independently of the phone, allowing play even in airplane mode without an internet connection.
The accessory pairs seamlessly via Bluetooth without requiring additional setup and offers an ad-free experience. It is powered by its own 200mAh battery that lasts up to 40 days on a single charge. Charging can be done without removing the smartphone, though wireless charging is not supported while the case is attached.

Xiaomi 17 Pro series specifications
The Xiaomi 17 Pro includes a 2.66-inch secondary rear display, branded “MiEnjoy,” which can be used for notifications, music control, travel details, call management, ride information, and even as a camera viewfinder with full photo and video controls. The main display measures 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max version offers a larger 6.8-inch panel.
Both models are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The 17 Pro houses a 6,300mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The 17 Pro Max upgrades to a bigger 7,500mAh battery while retaining the same fast-charging capabilities.
Reports suggest that the standard Xiaomi 17 and the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra will see an international release. However, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max may remain limited to the Chinese market.
