Apple has officially unveiled its latest 14-inch MacBook Pro, and this year’s model focuses heavily on battery endurance and energy efficiency. Equipped with the new M5 chip, the laptop promises an incredible 24 hours of battery life — the longest ever on a MacBook Pro — all while maintaining its $1,599 starting price. Pre-orders are live now, with shipping expected to begin on October 22.
The M5 chip introduces notable performance gains. According to Apple, the processor delivers up to 20 percent faster CPU performance and as much as 3.5 times improved AI processing, powered by an enhanced Neural Engine. Graphics performance also takes a leap forward, offering 1.6 times faster rendering and over 150GB/s of memory bandwidth. These improvements make the new MacBook Pro ideal for professionals who handle demanding workloads, from coding and video editing to AI-driven applications and 3D rendering.
Storage speed also gets a major boost, with SSD performance reportedly doubling — a welcome upgrade for users managing large files or high-resolution media projects. As for the 24-hour battery claim, Apple’s figure likely reflects light to moderate usage, but even a fraction of that would still set a new benchmark for longevity in performance laptops.
The design remains familiar and refined, featuring a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display capable of reaching 1,600 nits of brightness. Audio is delivered through a six-speaker system with spatial sound support, while the 12MP webcam includes Center Stage technology for dynamic framing during video calls. The port selection continues to cater to professionals, including three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, an SD card slot, a headphone jack, and MagSafe 3 charging.

Running on macOS Tahoe, the new MacBook Pro integrates “Apple Intelligence” features — AI-driven tools like live message translation, smarter automations via Shortcuts, and improved FaceTime interactions.
Sustainability also remains central to Apple’s design philosophy. The MacBook Pro chassis is made entirely from recycled aluminum, with nearly half of all materials in the device being recycled. The packaging has transitioned completely to fiber-based materials.
Pricing starts at $1,599 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD base configuration, while the upgraded 24GB RAM and 1TB storage model costs $1,999. Each unit ships with a 70W USB-C charger, although regional packaging variations may apply in certain markets, including Europe.
