Huawei has expanded its tablet lineup with the global release of the MatePad 12 X. The device stands out for its slim profile and sharp high resolution display, positioning it as a premium option for buyers worldwide. It comes packed with powerful hardware, refined design elements, and a host of modern features.
Huawei MatePad 12 X: Key highlights
The MatePad 12 X is essentially a global version of the MatePad Air, which was introduced in China just last month. The tablet carries a metal unibody frame, measuring only 5.9mm in thickness and weighing 555 grams. On the front, it features a large 12-inch LCD screen with a 2.8K resolution, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz with VRR, brightness that peaks at 1000 nits, and TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light. A PaperMatte variant is also available for those who prefer a more premium visual experience.

To maintain performance, Huawei has equipped the tablet with an advanced thermal management setup, which combines a PCBA-level 3D dispensing method and a custom 3D vapor chamber. This system is said to boost efficiency by up to 27 percent. The MatePad 12 X is powered by a 10,100mAh battery, paired with 66W fast wired charging. Connectivity and other features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.2 with BLE, a USB 3.1 port, HarmonyOS 4.3, six speakers, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.
Huawei is offering the MatePad 12 X in two colors — Greenery and White. Pricing starts at 599.99 pounds in the UK and 649.99 euros in Europe. Accessories such as the Huawei Smart Magnetic Keyboard and the M-Pencil Pro stylus are sold separately.
