The Xiaomi 17 lineup is scheduled to debut later this month in China. Ahead of the launch, the brand has begun promoting one of its key features — a secondary display that will be exclusive to the Pro versions. While an earlier teaser gave only a small peek, the latest video provides a full view of the back panel, showing how flexible this new screen can be.
Xiaomi 17 Pro series to introduce versatile rear screen
Xiaomi confirmed that the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will carry a sizable secondary display positioned around the rear cameras. This screen is designed for multiple uses such as switching between clock styles, displaying animated wallpapers, avatars, or even custom photos and GIFs. It will also serve practical functions like acting as a selfie preview for the rear cameras, providing shortcuts to control smart home devices or cars, and offering quick-access tools that adjust depending on location or connectivity.
Leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Pro will come as a compact flagship with a 6.3-inch front display and a 6,300mAh battery, while the Pro Max will feature a larger 6.8-inch screen and a 7,500mAh battery.
Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro spotted on Geekbench
Two new Xiaomi devices with the model numbers 25113PN0EC and 25098PN5AC have been listed on Geekbench, believed to be the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro.
According to the listings, both handsets are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip paired with 16GB of RAM and run on Android 16. The processor architecture includes two high-performance cores clocked at 4.61GHz, six performance cores at 3.63GHz, and an Adreno 840 GPU for graphics.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 17 achieved 3156 points in the single-core test and 9254 points in the multi-core test. The 17 Pro, on the other hand, scored 3025 and 9178 points in the same benchmarks.
