Infinix has launched the GT20 Pro, the latest addition to its GT series, and the immediate successor to the GT10 Pro of last year. This phone succeeds last year’s GT 10 Pro and offers a range of features designed to enhance the mobile gaming experience.

Display and Performance

The GT20 Pro boasts a large 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring a responsive and visually immersive experience. To further elevate gameplay, the display features a 360Hz touch sampling rate for faster touch recognition and 2304Hz PWM Dimming to minimize flicker. A dedicated Pixelworks X5 Turbo Gaming Display Chip is included to optimize visuals specifically for gaming.

At the core of the phone lies the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 5G processor, built on a power-efficient 4nm manufacturing process. This is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which is the same setup used on the recently announced Tecno Camon 30 Premier. Infinix goes a step further by incorporating up to 12GB of virtual RAM for enhanced multitasking capabilities when running multiple apps simultaneously.

Infinix has prioritized a robust cooling system to ensure the phone can handle extended gaming sessions without overheating. The GT20 Pro features over 78% larger VC cooling, a 68% larger PCM graphite sheet, and over 66% improved thermal conductivity around the SoC, aiming to deliver sustained performance during intense gaming. The phone can reportedly even upscale the refresh rate of Genshin Impact to 120Hz through interpolation for a smoother gaming experience.

Design and Software

The GT20 Pro retains the “cyber mecha” design aesthetic from its predecessor. It incorporates RGB mini-LED lights with customizable colors and lighting effects that can synchronize with music, calls, and notifications, adding a touch of flair.
