Motorola is preparing to introduce a new mid tier smartphone, the Edge 70, which could easily become one of the thinnest devices released this year. Ahead of its global announcement on November 5, recently leaked official renders and an EU energy label listing have revealed nearly everything left to know, including its size, durability, and expected battery performance.

Based on information from NieuweMobiel, the Edge 70 will arrive in two Pantone approved shades called Bronze Green and Lily Pad. It is said to measure only 5.99 millimeters in thickness and weigh just 159 grams. This puts it in the same category as the ultra slim Moto X70 Air from China, which the new model reportedly shares its foundation with. For comparison, the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge both weigh more despite having smaller batteries.

A key factor is Motorola’s move to a silicon carbon battery design, a dense power solution that major competitors like Apple and Samsung have not yet adopted.

The phone will sport a flat frame design with a centered front camera cutout and a triple rear lens setup. The primary sensor is expected to be 50 megapixels, paired with another 50 megapixel ultrawide lens and a macro lens. Inside, the Edge 70 is rumored to carry the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor alongside a 6.7 inch OLED screen running at 120Hz, offering a smooth viewing experience with Motorola’s streamlined interface.

Thanks to details already known from the X70 Air, the battery is set at 4800 mAh. That is notably higher than what the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge provide. The newly spotted EU EPREL listing also suggests an endurance time of 49 hours and 34 minutes for this global variant. Motorola further states that the battery is durable enough to maintain at least 80 percent health even after around one thousand charging cycles.

Overall, the Edge 70 looks to be more than just a slim phone. It could be a strong choice for buyers who want sleek styling without sacrificing battery life or everyday practicality.
