Buying a Realme smartphone in India has become noticeably more expensive, with the company implementing another round of price increases across several models. The latest adjustment affects phones ranging from the affordable C-series to the higher-end Realme 16 Pro and 16 Pro+.

Effective August 18, the new prices add between ₹1,000 and ₹4,000 to different variants. While the increases are relatively modest on some models, the higher-end Realme 16 Pro series has taken a significantly bigger hit. This is also not the first time Realme has adjusted prices this year, making the latest increase part of a broader pattern of rising smartphone prices.

The good news for buyers is that some older prices are still available on Amazon, giving shoppers a chance to save money before those listings are updated.

Realme Smartphone Price Hikes in India

Here is a breakdown of the latest changes.

VariantNew Price
4GB + 64GB₹18,499
4GB + 128GB₹21,499
6GB + 128GB₹24,499

The 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB versions have each increased by ₹1,000, while the 6GB + 128GB variant has also moved higher.

Realme 16T 5G Price

All three Realme 16T 5G variants have become ₹1,000 more expensive.

  • 6GB + 128GB: ₹30,999
  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹32,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹35,999

The increase pushes the 16T further into the mid-range segment, where buyers have several competing options to consider.

Realme 16 5G Gets Another Price Increase

The standard Realme 16 5G has also received a ₹1,000 increase across its listed configurations.

  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹36,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹39,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹42,999

With the highest configuration now approaching ₹43,000, the Realme 16 is becoming considerably more expensive than it was when it first launched.

Realme 16 Pro 5G Sees the Biggest Increase

The Realme 16 Pro 5G has received one of the largest price adjustments in the latest round.

The base 8GB + 128GB model has increased by ₹4,000, bringing its price to ₹44,999. The higher-storage variants have each gone up by ₹3,000.

  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹44,999
  • Higher-storage variants: ₹3,000 increase each

The latest increase is particularly significant because the Realme 16 series has already experienced several price revisions since launch.

The base Realme 16 Pro has accumulated roughly ₹9,000 in price increases even before taking the latest adjustment into account.

Realme 16 Pro+ 5G Also Gets More Expensive

The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G has followed a similar pattern.

The 8GB + 128GB version has increased by ₹4,000, bringing it to ₹53,999, while the other variants have received ₹3,000 increases.

  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹53,999
  • Other variants: ₹3,000 increase each

This makes the Pro+ considerably more expensive than it was earlier in its sales cycle.

Amazon Still Has Some Phones at Older Prices

While Flipkart has already updated its prices, some Amazon listings are still showing the older prices at the time of writing.

This creates an interesting situation for buyers who are already considering one of these smartphones. Depending on the variant, the difference between Amazon’s current listing and the newly revised retail price can be substantial.

Some of the older prices available on Amazon include:

Realme C83 5G

  • 4GB + 64GB: ₹17,499
  • 4GB + 128GB: ₹19,499
  • 6GB + 128GB: ₹21,599

For comparison, the 6GB + 128GB version is listed at ₹23,999 on Flipkart.

Realme 16T 5G

Amazon is still showing:

  • 6GB + 128GB: ₹26,999
  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹31,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹34,999

These prices are below the newly revised prices.

Realme 16 5G

The regular Realme 16 5G is also available at lower prices on Amazon:

  • 8GB + 128GB: ₹34,999
  • 8GB + 256GB: ₹37,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₹39,999

That means buyers could potentially save between ₹2,000 and ₹3,000 depending on the variant, based on the prices provided at the time of writing.

Realme Is Not the Only Brand Raising Prices

Realme’s latest increases come amid similar price adjustments across India’s smartphone market. Other brands, including OnePlus, POCO and iQOO, have also implemented price increases around the same period.

The repeated adjustments are putting additional pressure on consumers, particularly those shopping in the mid-range segment where even a ₹2,000 or ₹3,000 increase can significantly change the value proposition of a device.

For Realme, the latest changes are particularly notable because several models in the Realme 16 series have already seen multiple price revisions since their launch.

Should You Buy a Realme Phone Now?

For anyone already planning to purchase one of the affected models, it may be worth comparing prices across retailers before making a decision.

The Amazon listings mentioned above were still showing some of the older prices at the time of writing, but those prices may not remain available indefinitely. Buyers should therefore check the current price and variant carefully before placing an order.

The latest price increases also make it more important to compare Realme’s phones against competing models in the same price range, especially if the difference between the original and revised price is several thousand rupees.
