Tecno actually announced the Phantom V Fold smartphone in Nigeria since the 3rd of April. Now, the company has provided an update regarding the sales of the same in Nigeria, stating that it sold 300 units of the device just within the first 24 hours of sales.
How did Tecno achieve such a millstone in such a short period?
It is simple! Samsung has been selling its foldable smartphones in Nigeria since its inception, but even the older Galaxy Fold3 is still far too expensive for many tech enthusiasts in Nigeria to own.
On the other hand, the Phantom V Fold cost N695,000 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM, while the higher storage option with 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM is pegged at N775,000.
This is in no way cheap, but still far cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 series, which costs N1,251,000 and N1,335,000 for their 256GB and 512GB storage options, as of when this article is written.
A foldable smartphone is one that everyone wants to try, and now that Tecno’s Phantom V Fold is around half the price of its Galaxy counterpart, why should tech enthusiasts wait?

On the inside, the Phantom V Fold is powered by the Dimensity 9000+ 4nm Chipset, merged with Mali-G710 MC10 graphic processor. With this CPU, and thanks to the super optimized Android 13 with HiOS 13 Fold, the Phantom V Fold easily makes itself a performer for the ultra-multi-taskers out there.
The camera also get its best, combining two 50-megapixel main and telephoto lens, along with a ultrawide 13-megapixel sensor. And depending on the screen through which you decide to shoot your selfie, you are given either 16 or 32-megapixel lens.
