Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the Xiaomi 18 engineering prototype is equipped with a 7,200mAh battery. This represents a modest upgrade over the 7,000mAh battery found in the Xiaomi 17. While some larger smartphones are now introducing batteries as large as 8,000mAh and even 10,000mAh, the Xiaomi 18 continues to stand out by offering impressive battery capacity in a compact flagship design.

Xiaomi 18 battery confirmed at 7,200mAh ahead of launch Xiaomi 18 battery capacity leak

Previous reports had already suggested that the Xiaomi 18 would feature a larger battery than its predecessor, and the latest leak now provides a clearer picture of its expected capacity.

Xiaomi 18 specs: What we know so far

The Xiaomi 18 is expected to feature a 6.4 inch 2K display with ultra slim and symmetrical bezels. Rumors also point to the inclusion of SuperPixel display technology, while the overall design is said to remain compact and comfortable for everyday use.

Powering the device will reportedly be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, the same advanced 2nm chipset expected inside the Pro models. This could make the Xiaomi 18 one of the few compact flagship phones to combine next generation processing power with a dual 200 megapixel camera system.

In terms of photography, the handset is rumored to include dual 200 megapixel rear cameras. It is also expected to become the first standard Xiaomi model to feature a 3x periscope telephoto camera, a feature that was previously limited to the Pro variants. Other expected highlights include an ultrasonic in display fingerprint scanner and full water resistance.

Charging capabilities are not expected to change. The Xiaomi 18 will reportedly retain support for 100W wired fast charging along with wireless charging, matching the previous generation.

The secondary rear display introduced on the Pro lineup is not expected to arrive on the standard Xiaomi 18. According to earlier reports, that feature will remain exclusive to the Pro models.

The Xiaomi 18 series is widely expected to debut in September, possibly a little earlier than the previous generation. It is likely to compete directly with Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup when both devices arrive on the market.

More information about the Xiaomi 18 series is expected to emerge as its official launch draws closer.
