Xiaomi has announced a new floor standing lighting product in China, the Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2. With this release, the company continues its approach of transforming a simple study lamp into a feature rich smart home device. Here is a closer look at what it offers.

Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2 specifications

The new lamp is built to cover spaces of up to 15 square meters, making it a good fit for bedrooms or compact home offices. Xiaomi states that it uses durable LED beads designed to last as long as 17 years under typical usage.

According to the company, brightness has been increased by 27 percent compared to the previous generation. The lamp delivers a total luminous flux of 12700 lumens, with more than 1800 lux of average illuminance in the central lighting area. Uniformity in that central zone is rated at 1.04.

Xiaomi also highlights that the lighting setup significantly reduces visible hand shadows, which can be beneficial for users who spend extended hours writing, drawing, or working at a desk.

Eye comfort is a major focus for the Study Lamp 2. It offers anti glare performance with a UGR rating below 13 and achieves a high color rendering index of Ra98. The solar spectrum fitting coefficient is rated above 0.985, meaning the light aims to closely mimic natural daylight.

On the smart side, the lamp features AI powered automatic brightness adjustment and can detect when someone is seated nearby. It integrates with the Mi Home app and Xiaomi’s broader smart ecosystem. Users can control it through touch inputs on the lamp post, via the mobile app, or through Xiaomi’s Super AI functions.

The Xiaomi Mijia Vertical Study Lamp 2 is priced at 2499 yuan, roughly 363 US dollars. It is currently offered at a promotional price of 2349 yuan, around 350 dollars, and with a national subsidy applied, the final price can drop to approximately 1996.65 yuan, or about 290 dollars.
