Xiaomi is said to be developing the Xiaomi 18 series for the Chinese market. The lineup is currently expected to include four models: Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and 18 Ultra. Reports suggest the Ultra variant could launch by the end of this year, while the remaining three models may be introduced in China around September. Entire Xiaomi 18 lineup may adopt 200MP sensors

According to the new information, engineering prototypes of all Xiaomi 18 series models are fitted with a 200 megapixel camera using a large 1 over 1.28 inch sensor. The tipster also mentions that this generation is expected to introduce a dual 200 megapixel camera system, described internally as a major milestone for Xiaomi’s imaging technology.

Earlier leaks indicate that the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max could both feature dual 200 megapixel cameras on the rear. These high resolution sensors may serve as the main camera and the periscope telephoto lens.

The current Xiaomi 17 includes a telephoto camera, but rumors suggest the Xiaomi 18 will upgrade to a periscope telephoto setup. Additional reports claim that this periscope lens on the Xiaomi 18 could also use a 200 megapixel sensor.

As for the display, the standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to see a slight size increase to 6.4 inches, compared to the 6.3 inch panel on the Xiaomi 17. In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max are all rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 Ultra could step up to the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
