Huawei is gearing up for a big November event in China, where the company is expected to introduce its Mate 80 series smartphones. Alongside the new flagships, rumors suggest Huawei will also unveil its next-generation foldable device the Huawei Mate X7. Thanks to a fresh leak from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, we now have an early look at what to expect from this upcoming foldable.
Huawei Mate X7 – design and display

According to the leak, the Huawei Mate X7, codenamed “Delphi,” is currently slated for a November launch. The device will reportedly feature a 7.95-inch foldable main display with close to 2K resolution, delivering crisp visuals and improved brightness.
Huawei is said to be using Color-on-Encapsulation (COE) technology for richer colors, LTPO for adaptive refresh rate control (which helps save battery), and Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) to ensure better screen durability and smoother folding.
Hardware and performance
Under the hood, the Mate X7 is rumored to pack Huawei’s upcoming Kirin 9030 chipset, which is also expected to power the Mate 80 Pro series. While performance details are still under wraps, the new Kirin SoC is expected to offer improved efficiency and better AI processing compared to previous generations.
The leak also mentions that the Mate X7 will sport a larger battery, likely around 5,500mAh, providing longer usage time despite its large foldable display.
Camera system and photography features
Huawei seems to be doubling down on camera performance this year. According to earlier leaks, the Mate X7 is being tested with two different main camera sensors — a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor and a 50MP 1/1.3-inch sensor — both offering a physical variable aperture for improved low-light and portrait photography.
Additionally, the phone is rumored to feature a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with macro shooting capabilities, and a multispectral sensor designed to enhance color accuracy and image detail.
Design and color options
The Huawei Mate X7 is also expected to be thinner, lighter, and more refined than its predecessor, making it more comfortable to hold and use. The foldable will reportedly be available in five elegant color options:
- Obsidian Black
- Phantom Purple
- Cosmic Red
- Cloud Blue
- Cloud White
Conclusion
With its combination of a high-resolution foldable display, new Kirin chipset, larger battery, and advanced camera system, the Huawei Mate X7 could be one of the most premium foldables of 2025. If the rumors hold true, we might see it debut alongside the Mate 80 series in November.
